Abstract

A large extent of land in the South of Sao Paulo is cultivated with oranges, and EM has been applied onto these trees. Traditionally, this farm had been using large quantities of fertilizers and pesticides. EM was sprayed once in two months to these trees, along with pesticides. With time, many pest and disease problems were eradicated. The trees had heavy foliage and there was an abundance of fruits. The nutrition of trees supplied with EM was also better. The practical benefits of using EM in citrus plantations are presented.
