Abstract
Research has shown the beneficial effect of Effective Micro-organisms in
promoting growth of livestock. Thus a study was carried out to determine
the effect of this microbial solution on growth of sheep fed on either
roughage and fodder or concentrates. Sheep fed with roughage and EM had
a lower weight gain and also showed signs of diarrhea. In contrast, the
sheep fed with concentrates with EM showed better growth rates than animals
fed the concentrates alone. The potential of supplying EM feed with concentrates
is presented.
