Abstract

The New Zealand Nature Farming Society (NZNFS) is a charitable trust, responsible for expanding Kyusei Nature Farming and EM Technology in New Zealand. This was established in 1996, and anticipates being in the forefront of motivating the adoption of Kyusei Nature Farming with EM in the country Thus, since its inception, projects were undertaken to test the efficacy of EM in agriculture. Permission was obtained to import EM into New Zealand, where quarantine laws prohibit the importation of any microbial additive, unless proven that it is harmless to the environment. More recently NZNFS has been successful in obtaining the permission of Bio-grow, the leading organic certification authority in the county, for using EM in organic farming. These developments have motivated NZNFS to move forward in developing the technology of EM. The progress made today and the projects of the future are presented.
